Åsa Ageback is the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at H&M Group, where she is leading a global People organisation of 1,300 colleagues. With a strong belief in the power of people, Åsa is passionate about creating business value through strategic people initiatives and delivering an exceptional colleague experience. Seeing individuals and teams grow, succeed, and achieve what once seemed impossible is the most fulfilling part of the job for her.
Åsa’s journey with H&M Group began in 2018, when she took on the role as Head of HR for the Global Marketing and Communication function. During this time, she also played a key role in driving large-scale global transformation initiatives. After a brief time outside the company, she returned in spring 2023 as Head of HR for the H&M brand, and was appointed CHRO for the Group in early 2024.
With over 20 years of HR experience, Åsa brings a wealth of experience from the whole people lifecycle from global organizations such as EQT, Nordea, and Ericsson. She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Stockholm University.
