Lewis Brown, Jr. is the Vice President of Talent Management, DEI, and Recruiting for Comcast West Division, with responsibility for the development and implementation of key mobility, retention, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and talent management strategies for Comcast’s 20,000 employees in the West and 180,000 employees nationally. Lewis has had the privilege of working in both the public and private sectors, supporting companies like Zurich North America as Vice President of Workforce Development, the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning as Vice President of Partnerships, and IBM in various project management roles. In these functions, he has created and executed comprehensive workforce development strategies across sectors and regions, in support of economic development initiatives focused on upskilling, reskilling, labor market shifts, and the future of work.His passion is driving system changes that result in generational equity for all populations and communities. He combines his corporate experience with key roles at local community-based organizations and education consortiums. He is also the President of Group Vigilant, an organization based on the philosophy that communities are built one person at a time. He sits on several boards and advisory committees, including the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning Advisory Board, the National Association for Workforce Boards executive board, the Per Scholas Diverse by Design Board, the Aurora Police Department Community Policing Advisory Team, and the Issachar Urban Leadership Institute advisory committee.In these roles, Lewis has pioneered programs targeting youth mentoring, music therapy, community development, job readiness, community-police relations, and more. Through these programs, Lewis has served thousands throughout Colorado and nationally over a 20-year span.He has become a widely recognized speaker and panelist on topics related to the future of work, community development, the justice system, race relations, organizational development, and positive youth development. He was recognized as one of the top 100 executive leaders in Corporate America by Diversity MBA in 2021 and has consulted with companies like Stanford Health Care on workforce and DEI initiatives.
