Chris Smith is the Senior Vice President of Station Casinos and a respected leader in the gaming industry, known for his strategic vision, collaborative leadership style, and commitment to creating exceptional workplace cultures.
With extensive experience in key roles at Boyd Gaming, Harrah’s Southern California, and Caesars Entertainment, Chris has led major initiatives including multiple casino openings—most recently the successful launch of Durango Casino & Resort, where he oversaw the hiring of more than 1,200 team members in a highly competitive labor market. His career includes developing companywide leadership programs, implementing service-based Talent Acquisition strategies, designing innovative benefits and compensation programs including the development of onsite medical centers, and guiding organizations through the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under his leadership, Station Casinos has earned numerous workplace awards from Forbes, USA Today, Newsweek, and the Las Vegas Review-Journal. A UNLV Hotel College graduate and 2022 Alum of the Year, Chris also serves on the board of the YMCA of Southern Nevada. Originally from Escondido, California, he is driven by the mission to make Station Casinos the greatest place to work in the gaming industry.
