Bob Toohey leads Human Resources and is responsible for ensuring Allstate attracts, retains and cultivates a diverse workforce to enable future success.
Toohey has extensive business and digital transformation experience leading through the telecom industry evolution and building startups. Most recently, he was President of pymetrics, where he built a customer-centered culture for growth and led the company through its evolution from startup to enterprise-ready SAAS platform.
He was previously Chief People Officer for Verizon Media, overseeing global human resources strategy and operations, including employee development, talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, and other key HR functions. He also served as President of Verizon Business, Vice President of Global Customer Care and Senior Vice President of Human Resources.
Toohey has more than 30 years of experience leading major growth, including start-up and launch of new business entities, key organization restructurings, mergers, acquisitions and business integrations. In his early career, he held finance, operations, and human resources roles at GTE, Genuity and Verizon.
He has served as chairman of the board of directors for Atlantic Health, as a member of the advisory board for DocuSign, as a member of the Board of Visitors of Northeastern University’s College of Business Administration and on the advisory council for Villanova’s School of Business Center for Global Leadership.
