The hiring tech giant is starting 2024 with some huge news! Here's the inside track on the leadership update.

2023 was a big year for hiring tech giant HireVue.

Not only did it announce the acquisition of Modern Hire, HireVue also decided to launch a new category of recruitment: ‘human potential intelligence’.

'Human potential intelligence' is all about moving away from rear view, reactive hiring approaches, and instead leveraging technology to make science-powered decisions that put the candidate front and center.

And 2024 is kicking off with a bang – HireVue has appointed a new CEO to lead this future of proactive, candidate-centric hiring.

Former co-founder and CEO of Schoology, a learning management system which was acquired by PowerSchool in 2019, Jeremy Friedman is taking over at the helm from Anthony Reynolds with immediate effect.

Reynolds, who has been CEO of HireVue since January 2022, will continue to support the future of the hiring tech company in an advisory role.

From Schoology to HireVue

Sharing the news of his appointment, Friedman wrote on LinkedIn:

There is a lot of synergy between learning technology and hiring tech, particularly when it comes to helping individuals realize their maximum potential.

Talking about the appointment, Harrison Chilton, who sits on HireVue’s board of directors and principal at Carlyle Group (HireVue's investors), shared: “Jeremy’s entrepreneurial spirit and proven dedication to enhancing outcomes through technology speak to the core of what makes HireVue a beacon for connecting talent to opportunity.

“His vision and execution expertise in nurturing growth and innovation in a customer and user-centric tech environment are what we see as the driving force for HireVue’s next phase.”

In an exclusive comment to UNLEASH, Friedman reassured HireVue’s over 1,000 customers that “the company’s strategic priorities have not changed”.

He concludes: “I’m excited for what the future holds as we further enable organizations to connect talent to opportunity, moving beyond traditional hiring practices and prioritizing fairness and objectivity.”
