Adobe Ventures invests in AI video unicorn, Synthesia, as it reaches $100 million ARR

Global AI video platform Synthesia has reached over $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and has received a strategic investment from Adobe Ventures.

The London-based business is one of the few AI-native companies that has successfully commercialized Gen AI technology at scale.

Synthesia CEO Victor Riparbelli expressed he is “incredibly proud” to announce the milestones, and stated that reaching $100 million in ARR “underscores the significant value and impact” the AI video platform is bringing to enterprises.

In a statement, he added: “The Adobe Ventures investment represents a powerful endorsement of our vision for enterprise-grade video communications, enabling us to deliver even greater innovation and customer value.”

'British AI company becoming a global success story'

Synthesia has achieved this milestone as a result of three key growth drivers: Increased utilization, the acquisition of new customers, and continuous platform innovation.

Firstly, by expanding their use of AI video to go beyond training and internal communications, thousands of organizations on Synthesia’s Enterprise plan can use the platform to create content for product marketing, customer support, or sales enablement daily.

Secondly, Synthesia has seen increased adoption for both internal communications and external outreach, as a result of more organizations identifying the advantages of communicating in a multi-modal world.

For example, two years ago 40% of the Fortune 100 companies were Synthesia customers – today, that number has risen to 70%.

This growth comes from Synthesia launching a new version of its platform last year, as well as consistently delivering value to large businesses on enterprise plans, as well as also increasing demand to small and medium-sized businesses through accessible plans.

Finally, Synthesia operates at the application layer, while driving a research and development team, focused on crafting better models for audio and video generation.

The business has therefore become well-versed in balancing the speed of technological breakthroughs to product deployment and customer adoption, while not compromising on AI safety and security.

“Synthesia is living proof of how that approach is working. Through this investment and with their annual revenue stream now topping more than $100 million, Synthesia represents a prime example of a British AI company becoming a global success story.’’

Speaking exclusively to UNLEASH Strategic Advisor and Chief Evangelist Kevin Alster added: "The shift to AI video is redefining who gets to create.

"Non-technical teams, from HR to compliance, can now produce and localize content quickly, without relying on external vendors and with little expertise.
