‘Oracle's future is bright’: Tech giant announces Clay Magouyrk and Mike Sicilia as dual CEOs

With the final quarter of 2025 just around the corner, technology giant Oracle has announced three new leadership changes.

Oracle’s Clay Magouyrk and Mike Sicilia have been named as the company’s dual Chief Executive Officers, and Safra Catz being appointed as Executive Vice Chair of the Oracle Board of Directors.

Leading Oracle’s new AI era

Since joining Oracle after working from Amazon Web Services back in 2014, Magouyrk became a founding member of Oracle's Cloud Engineering Team, overseeing the design, implementation and business success of Gen2 of OCI.

Similarly, Sicilia joined Oracle through its acquisition of Primavera Systems. Since taking the role of President of Oracle Industries, Sicilia has shared his expertise in vertical applications and applied AI with the company, while pioneering the use of intent-based application generation.

In a statement, Oracle's Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer, Larry Ellison said: “Humanity is investing enormous resources in the race to advance Artificial Intelligence. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is playing a major part in that effort.”

He added that Clay's experience in leading Oracle's “large, fast-growing Cloud Infrastructure business” demonstrates his “readiness” to take the CEO role.

Ellison also said that Sicilia’s time modernizing Oracle's industry applications businesses, such as Oracle Health, has helped to completely rebuild applications using the latest AI technologies.

“A few years ago, Clay and Mike committed Oracle's Infrastructure and Applications businesses to AI – it's paying off,” he commented.

By joining forces, Magouyrk and Sicilia will continue to complete industry suites of AI applications on Oracle evolving AI Database and Cloud Infrastructure.

In a joint statement, both new CEOs expressed their excitement for taking on the new role in the “new AI era where technological innovation leads to extraordinary business opportunity and hyper-growth."

By stepping down from Oracle’s helm, Catz will continue to serve the company alongside Ellison to “guide Oracle's direction, growth and success."

Concluding, Catz shared: “Today, Oracle is recognized as the cloud of choice for both AI training and inferencing. I'm very proud of that.

“At this time of strength is the right moment to pass the CEO role to the next generation of capable executives. Congratulations Clay and Mike.”
