The UNLEASH 10: Our most popular stories of 2022
Employee experience, layoffs, future work trends: These are the articles that resonated with the UNLEASH audience this year – did they pique your interest?
Why You Should Care
Quiet quitting explainers, Google predictions, turnover news, remote working trends, it's all here as we run down our most popular stories of the year.
Will you feature on this list next year? We're always looking out for HR practitioners to share their stories of success and innovation.
When you look back at 2022, will it be with regret or relief? Has it been a vintage year for you and your work, or the wider HR world as a whole?
It’s difficult to tell, and most likely impossible to ascribe the experience of one industry to another. Just look at how quit rates and vacancies have both increased in what feels like an improbable paradox of talent angst.
At UNLEASH we occupy a space where we can introduce global HR practitioners to the people, platforms and processes than can help solve their problems, while viewing these same issues from a detached third angle of observation. That feels like a privilege.
And, despite COVID-19 rumbling on, with prevalent strains still causing disruption (and worse) to people’s health and work life, it nevertheless feels like 2022 has been the first full year of post-pandemic recovery. Organizations are finally able to be proactive not reactive, starting to strategise again and plan for the future.
The pieces beneath, published across 2022, represent stories that have hit the marks for our audience, and/or have been found via search as our influence has grown online (thanks, digital squad). Either way, we hope you enjoy the recap!

2022 was a ‘quiet’ year, wasn’t it? ‘Quiet firing’ was a term that jumped on the Quiet bandwagon and didn’t get off, as bosses allegedly pushed back against the quiet quitting movement of a few months before. But as our piece points out, so much of this attrition can be sorted out by equitable conditions and good communication with workers.
