Visier announces acquisition of Yva.ai
The company looks set to expand its analytics offering.
Why You Should Care
Analytics is essential in the modern workplace.
Uncover how Visier's asset acquisition of Yva.ai will impact this growing workplace data economy.
Analytics are the talk of the (proverbial HR) town. As companies adapt to the strains of a shifting workplace that are geographically dispersed, data provides insights into the health of the business and its employees.
The latest shake-up in this data-based world has come from people analytics unicorn Visier. It has moved to acquire the assets of Yva.ai. The announcement was made at Visier’s Outsmart event, without financial details.
Yva.ai is an analytics platform that highlights areas in employee wellbeing and improves productivity through the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
Of course, data has to be grounded in the relevant tools and part of the appeal of Yva.ai is the platform’s analytics sourcing from Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Slack, and other collaboration tools.
By sourcing this data, the tool can help companies get ahead of burnout and subsequent attrition.
David Yang, CEO of Yva.ai, discussed why the company has decided to join forces with Visier: “Yva.ai was founded on the principle that understanding how people work and how people work together are essential to building a high-performance culture that delivers both great results and a great employee experience.
“Visier has a strong belief in this very same principle, an unmatched people analytics product as a foundation, and a broader people cloud vision that makes these companies a perfect match.”
The future with Visier
Speaking about the acquisition, Ryan Wong, co-founder and CEO of Visier, said: “We believe that the most successful companies of the next 25 years will be those that understand their employees and use this knowledge most effectively and responsibly.”
Wong added: “This acquisition reflects our goal of helping companies to deeply understand the human truths – and the hidden truths – within their organizations by shining light on how people work and how people work together.”
Visier will absorb Yva.ai’s technology assets and has hired 30 Yva.ai engineers and data scientists, which is the majority of Yva.ai’s global workforce.
On the back of this acquisition, Visier will add Yvia.ai’s technology to its product offering and enable its customers to have a greater insight into the collaborations and experiences of employees.
John Schwarz, Visier’s chairman and co-founder, commented: “We are thrilled with the addition of Yva.ai to the Visier portfolio of solutions and to welcome the new team who created it.
Yva.ai’s collaboration analysis [tool] adds a vital employee perspective to complete the full Visier picture of the human truth within an organization.”
It looks like the boom of workplace data and analytics is set to continue.
