Why You Should Care
Recruitment in healthcare is vital amid talent shortages.
Discover how Incredible Health has become profitable in this environment.
The need for healthcare staff has been highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, hiring platforms have become essential in the sector.
Incredible Health, a career marketplace for permanent healthcare workers, aims to help organizations with their hiring and onboarding. So much so, that the start-up has raised $80 million in Series B funding, which brings the company’s valuation to $1.65 billion.
The company has seen a 500% increase in revenue in 2021, with 10,000 nurses joining the marketplace every week. It boasts an average hiring time of 14 days.
Iman Abuzeid, CEO and co-founder of Incredible Health, noted the environment that is enabling Incredible health to thrive: “Nurses are the backbone of the US healthcare system, and they deserve the well-staffed teams and tools to not only succeed, but also feel fulfilled in their careers.
“Our model has met the moment and changed the paradigm for both nurses and healthcare providers in the most challenging time in US healthcare.”
The investment round was led by Base10 Partners, as part of its Advancement Initiative which is a fund intended to join the success of tech companies with wealth creation for underrepresented minorities.
Existing investors Andreessen Horowitz and Obvious Ventures have also contiributed to this funding round.
Jamison Hill, partner at Base10 Partners, discussed the investment: “Incredible Health is an exciting addition to the Advancement Initiative portfolio.
“The company’s mission and support for nurses closely align with our values, but what truly makes Incredible Health special is how the company has transformed the way health systems recruit talent and nurses find work.
“The company is solving an urgent need in healthcare and we’re excited to be a part of its next stage of growth.”
Continued growth
Incredible Health now has big plans to leverage its funding.
The company intends to introduce machine learning technology for screening and matching candidates with roles. Automized components will also help achieve a smoother and quicker hiring experience.
If that wasn’t enough, the company intends to develop skills programs for healthcare workers. Plus introduce services for mobility and relocation support, cross-training, and educational scholarships. Incredible Health will also work on its community platform with new features like personalized advice and content rankings.
Finally, and perhaps unsurprisingly, Incredible Health now wants to expand. The company has a goal to support 90% of the US nursing workforce.
It’s an ambitious goal, but this Series B investment will undoubtedly help Incredible Health on this journey.
